Wakened Sea
Most folk live on dry dry land
I live calm on a wakened sea
with a sun that casts no shadows
my ship floats in eternity
The sea here is always fresh
with roots forever old
the water would wake up the dead
it’s startlingly suddenly cold
With a heart pumping fire
and breath as cool as snow
I left my yesterdays long ago
and tomorrow’s too far to know
Some plan to grave and beyond
but each pulse is here and free
they seek a life that is grand
I seek myself and the end of ‘me’
