Children on the street

my little children on the street

braving the cold, their tale untold

invisible to all they meet

picking up litter in stifling heat

wearing smiles while walking miles

my little children in bare feet

chatting with strangers just to be sweet

dispensing lies, pretense cries

invisible to all they meet

gushing with joy they happily greet

those who pretend to be their friend

my little children on the street

whom no one knows yet all mistreat

cushions for pins, born without sins

invisible to all they meet

running around in bare feet

pain overdone, future none

my little children on the street

invisible to all they meet
